30 Days of Writing–Day 22: Secret Scene

Mr. Cloud is reading puddings diary...

I’m not quite sure how to answer this next question, but I’ll try to write something coherent.

22. Tell us about one scene between your characters that you’ve never written or told anyone about before! Serious or not.

Here’s the rub.  If I chose not to write the scene, it’s probably because it would have been too ridiculous or insipid to waste my time on.  If I did write it but never told anyone, I’m not sure what would possess me to tell the public now.  A thirty questions blog meme is not sufficient incentive to spill.

I will confess to having a couple of super secret blogs that I keep private and don’t let anyone see.  They mostly contain adults only scenes, some using my characters but occurring outside the main story and even out of character.  Some pieces are scenes that I cut before the betas saw them but wanted to save for scrap.

I’ve shared a couple of these posts, but the rest I’ve kept under password and even under a different pseudonym.  I also have a few fan fiction pieces, also kept under lock and key, written several years ago.  All of these super secret writings are for my entertainment only, and will forever remain my dirty little secrets.

Entering the final third.

21. Do any of your characters have children? How well do you write them?

None of my characters have had children since my first trunked novel.   Only that heroine was brave / foolish enough to have reproduced, and I learned my lesson from that experience (see earlier post for more on my thoughts about that.)  The others have been youngun’s, single and childless.

I do not write children well.  I do not like to read romance novels with children in the them.  I especially do not like children in novels who sound like adults affecting five year old voices.  I associate them with Clint Howard as a child pushing Trania juice in Star Trek.  I do not like them Sam I Am…fictional children, that is…in novels that I like to read or write.

Don’t get me wrong, this has nothing to do with my own beliefs about kids.  I love them.  They’re delicious with a little A-1 or Heinz 57 with a black pepper rub to bring the sass out.  Ha ha!  Kidding.  Hope my kids don’t read this.  I’ve managed to keep them alive thus far for fourteen and twelve years with nary a nibble…okay, maybe a whiff every so often.  😉

However…

My 2010 NaNo ain’t called Sins of Our Mothers for nuthin’, and that’s all I’m sayin’ ’bout that or on this topic.  See ya tomorrow.
