Welcome to “Six Sentence Sunday”. Thank you for visiting and especially for any comments you might feel inclined to offer.
This six comes from my story in Tidal Whispers, an ocean creature themed anthology that releases tomorrow from J. Taylor Publishing. My story is called “The Sweetest Song” and features a siren, Circe, and the captain of the only fishing vessel ever to have eluded her destructive clutches, not once but three times.
In this scene, Circe is trying to leave Otis because she realizes he may be more dangerous to her heart than she could ever be to his fishing boat.
The rain had stopped, and twilight had rolled in, though it would not get dark, not for a few more moon cycles.
Otis didn’t say a word but caught hold of her hand and brought it to his lips. She stepped closer, close enough for him to slide his other hand around her waist and draw her near. His lips descended to drop a light kiss on hers.
It wasn’t enough. One kiss would never be enough.

Begs the question, who is luring whom?
Nice twist!
Hmm, good point! Who is the irresistible one?
What a sweet and telling moment. I’m looking forward to reading this! Sensational six, Claire!
Thanks so much, Sandra! Hope you like it when you read it. It’s a lot gentler and sweeter than what I normally write.
Wonderful sense of longing in this.
Thank you, Eleri! 🙂
The siren’s in danger of losing herself to his charms– love it! Congratulations on the upcoming release!!
Thank you, Karen! 🙂
Uh oh, sounds like the fisherman is turning the tables on the siren, luring her to…. what? What an interesting premise!
Definitely some table turning going on. THanks for visiting and commenting, Tonya! 🙂
I love the whole concept of a siren having been taken in by love and finding herself trapped. Wonderful six!
Thank you, Karyn! 😀
Oh very nice twist on the siren tale. I’ll look for this.
Appreciate the visit and nice feedback, Gem.
Oooh, I like this. The names alone are enough to set the tone. Great job!
Ah! I love it when readers pick up on and comment on the names! Thank you!
“His lips descended to drop a light kiss on hers.”. Love this line. A great six!
Thanks so much, Melissa!
Sweet and sad at the same time. Great six! 🙂
Thank you, Jessica! 🙂
Lovely — very slow and evocative.
Thanks, Ruthie! 🙂
“One kiss would never be enough.” To lure him to his death as much as to satisfy her longing? Circe has quite the dilemma.
Hmm…good way of viewing it. I suppose it could be either, and yes her dilemma grows the longer she knows him and learns more about him and those he loves.
Sounds like a great read.
Thank, Samantha! I hope readers think so. 🙂
A beautiful kiss.
Thank you, Lisa! 🙂
That is so beautifully sensual and haunting. Just lovely!
Thank you so much, Mae. 😀
Really nice. High-latitude white nights?
Thanks and yes, the long summer days of Alaska.
This is very sweet. A lovely six.
Thank you, Elin. 🙂
Congrats on the release. I love the twist in this story. I have the feeling Circe is in for some serious soul-searching…and loving. 😉
Thanks, Silver. She definitely has a couple of epiphanies.
I so love that it’s not enough. Yeap, I’m melting, lol. Lovely 6.
