- 2/10/11: SUBMITTED! and found another one to enter before monthend.

- 3/11/11: Erotica short SOLD!! to Pill Hill Press
- 3/17/11: Wrote and SUBMITTED flash for A Word With You Press Mar/Apr contest
That’s some goal, especially about the contest. I hope you accomplish it. Good luck.
Thank you! Good luck with your goals too. The contest part is the easiest goal cause there’s so many out there. The 500 words / day average will be the toughest…she says as she takes yet another break after her 396th word.
Where do you find all the contests, Claire? Just wondering.
Some I find on writing forums like Absolute Write or Scribophile, some in literary agents’ blogs, some other writers’ blogs, some on the Publishing Weekly blog. NPR runs a 3 minute story contest about once a quarter. Erma Bombeck has an annual contest. Harlequin (Mills & Boon) has frequent contests. There’s also a blog out there (Ask Wendy) that compiles contests from many sources. I have writer friends who send me links to contests. As I type this, I currently have 3 contests that I’m entered into that will announce results soon. I’m not talking big bucks, usually just a free book or a gift card or just recognition alone.
Yeah for good progress!
Thank you kindly, Ma’am! 🙂
You’re doing great! Awesome job with your goals. 🙂
Thank you!
Sounds like you’re still doing really well. 🙂 Sorry you felt like you had to gut words out yesterday – I’m intrigued by that image – but hopefully today will go a little easier.
Heh-heh. The gutting out days just serve to separate the women from the girls. I can take a few every now and then. LOL
That’s a lot of goals you’re juggling and you’re doing great. I’m actually getting tired reading everything you’re trying to do. Or inspired. Maybe both. I’m sure rambling like I’m tired. I should go before this gets ugly.
Wow, it’s great that you’re doing so well with your goals, Claire!
Thank you for your support!
You are still doing fantastic work wise, and I love how you’re keeping track of your weeks. Keep up the awesome work, Claire! Please let me know if you come up with any cool tricks for using Dragon. Can’t wait to see how you do next week.
Thanks, Dawn! I need to get my butt in gear with Dragon but I’ve filed away a few tricks from co-workers. But that’s for work. It will be interesting to see how I translate it to writing. I had to laugh at a tweet I saw on your blog about when is safest to dictate certain, ahem, parts of a manuscript. I had wondered about that. LOL
