Friday 56

I thought this looked like some random fun. I ran across it in a blog I happened to read.

  • Grab the book nearest you. Right now
  • Turn to page 56.
  • Find the fifth sentence.
  • Post that sentence (plus one or two others if you like) along with these instructions on your blog or (if you do not have your own blog) in the comments section of this blog.
  • Post a link along with your post back to this blog.
  • Don’t dig for your favorite book, the coolest, the most intellectual. Use the CLOSEST.

My “Friday 56” is from J.R. Ward’s Dark Lover:

She hesitated a moment.  And then quietly disappeared.

Alrighty then.

  1. From the book closest to me (and please, don’t judge) –

It is quite possible that the Mimbreño was telling the truth. There was much gold in the section and it would not be strange that he knew where some of it was. But no Piños Altos miner would believe that an Apache would take so much interest in him unless for the purpose of luring him out of the reach of friends and murdering him.

Death In The Desert by Paul I. Wellman
There are a lot of very short sentences in the book, so I picked the text which gives context to the odd little sentence which resulted from the rules. 🙂
