Oops, first check in and I’m on spring break vacation in San Diego with the kids.
I’ve been able to get online about an hour in the evening and the same in the AM, but it’s not been too conducive to hitting my goals. I’ve had to use some of that time to check work emails. After that, I’ve not written or critiqued. I have edited one WIP but not the one I intended.
Oh well. I knew about this week of vacation going in ,so my goals stand, though I won’t meet them this first week.
Here’s the Linky checkin list of the other participants. Give ’em some encouragement.
Hello, fellow Claire! 😀
See, now, you’ve got the right idea by starting out ROW80 with a vacation. 😉 Seriously, I’m jealous! San Diego is definitely on my “Places To Go” list. Maybe you can post pictures as part of your check-ins next week??
I checked out your goals for this round, and I’m so excited to see your progress! I like how you said that your weekly word count goal is a little lower for this round, but that the point is to set a reasonable, consistent pace. Excellent mindset!
Here’s to a great Spring Break, and to happy writing! 😀
Thanks, Claire. I think I will post some pictures. My kids have taken some awesome shots at the zoo and safari park so far. On the goals, I want them to guide me with a firm hand but not whip me like a stern taskmaster. Writing has to stay fun for me. good luck with your goals too.
Sounds like a wonderful way to get the creativity worked up! A change of scenery always fires up something. I hope your vacation is grand…and that you have no worries leaving your goals in a convenient place you can find them when you get home. Have fun with the family!
There you go! Thanks for providing some great reasons why I shouldn’t feel guilty not writing this first week. I’m gathering material.
Vacations take priority IMO. 🙂 You’re starting with one, I’ll be ending with one. Your goals will be there when you get back!
Amen! Thanks for that, because they really do. Writing is about life and not the other way around.
Work smarter, not harder. It doesn’t hurt to carry a little notebook around to jot down your thoughts. Vacationing in an unfamiliar place or where a lot of tourists gather is the perfect opportunity to people watch. 😉
Good luck this week!
Very true! I do keep a small notebook in my purse. I need to do a better job pulling it out and jotting down thoughts that bullet through. Thanks for dropping by.
