I announced on Monday that my novel, The PURE, has been picked up by J Taylor Publishing for an April 2012 release!!! (see prior blog post for more details)
Last night, I submitted my superhero novella to Samhain Publishing.
I stumbled across a YA pitch contest open to the first 50 commenters on the blog so I figured, what the hell, and posted a one sentence blurb crafted in two minutes and my first 250 words. Low expectations on that one but you never know.
The steampunk story publisher A (from whom I withdrew my story) emailed back and said it was a good story and they wished me well to find a new home for it. I hope so. Publisher B has had it a few days. Cross your fingers I made the right choice to pull it and try to place it elsewhere.
So, I’ve updated my goals and added two new ones:Â Edit The PURE per my publisher’s guidelines AND write a Christmas short story for possible submission to Evernight.
Tonight, I think I’ll do NO writing or editing AT ALL! Just watch television and read. I think I deserve a short break if only for one night.
My cumulative statistics are on my ROW80-3 page.
The Linky site lists other participants’ progress reports. Give them some encouragement too.
Congratulations on getting picked up. Exciting!
Everyone deserves a night off now and then, especially after good news like that.
It looks like you do a great job of keeping your goals liquid enough to remain achievable and challenging. Keep up the good work!
Thank you, Matt. It was tempting to just say DONE! but that’s not the point of ROW80. Plus my publisher reads my blog and if I hadn’t added “edit The PURE”, I’m sure I’d have heard about it. LOL
Congrats on all your great news!! And yes, you certainly deserve a break. Watching TV and reading are my two most favorite things 🙂
Thanks, Claudia! I did watch and read…but I also wrote a little too, messed around with my blog…it’s like I can’t stay out of that chair, monitor on, etc. LOL Habit–for better or worse.
Congrats on getting published!! Fabulous news. Can’t wait to read it!
Thanks, Jessica! I hope you will read and enjoy it! :) Thanks for the support.
