Welcome to “Six Sentence Sunday”. Thank you for visiting and especially for any comments you might feel inclined to offer. Yes, I changed my blog theme, just temporarily for Halloween. I thought it was rather fun.
Today’s six comes from a little novelette I’m writing as a companion to my debut novel, The P.U.R.E. This is an intimate moment between Jon and Gayle, the morning after Gayle’s fateful first meeting of his parents and a puzzling discovery.
The muscles of his biceps and shoulders rippled as he plumped his pillow beneath his neck, his eyes never leaving mine. How did such a formidable male animal end up with me? He could break me if he wanted, snap me in half with his powerful hands, cut me with a harsh word. And yet I danced on the blade’s edge, bared my neck to him in submission, loving it, him.“Morning.” I moved closer, shifting onto my side to press my back against his front from sternum to groin, a groin that was wide awake and rather bossy.
Despite that first paragraph’s last sentence, this isn’t a Dom/sub story….just so no one gets any wrong ideas.
Be sure to check out the host site, Six Sentence Sunday, for links to more tantalizing snippets from some very talented writers.
Oh, and one other little announcement before you go, if I may be so shameless. My 50 Shades Naughtier alter ego, Lila Shaw, has a new book releasing tomorrow, Succubus Games, AND a big birthday blog hop that kicks off, so would love a visit then to check out all the festivities. Web address is: LilaShaw.com
They seem to have found a way around the morning after awkwardness. Great 6!
Thanks, Jess! yeah, they’re pretty cozy with each other now.
A very sensual moment. Great description.
Thanks, Clare! She’s crazy about him but is a little unnerved by the strength of her emotions.
Um, yes. More please. I realize this isn’t a D/s story but this, THIS is amazing: “And yet I danced on the blade’s edge, bared my neck to him in submission, loving it, him.”
Thanks S/E. I rather liked that bit too. 🙂
Sounds like she could be calling the shots to me. Fab 6!
Yes and no. She likes to think she is, but…
Jon is quite the lovah! Her description of him is sweet and sensual.
Since we always see him through Gayle’s eyes, I can make him as amazing, sneaky, or oblivious as I like. He’s not fully the way she sees him, of course, but that’s the fun with first person narration.
His groin, muscles, biceps can boss me around anytime. Haha!! What a terrific little scene. Sexy visual.
LOL…Jon’s quite the stud…at least in Gayle’s mind. Thank goodness she’s the narrator. Thanks, Carrie.
Just love me some Jon Cripps!
Nom-nom, me too! Thanks, R.
She’s romanticizing him a bit, but apparently he’s living up to her estimation of him. 😉
Indeed and yes, he is! 🙂 Thanks for stopping by, Ryan.
Haha love the “rather bossy” line. Great six!
Thanks! Aren’t “they” all? LOL
“Despite that last sentence, this isn’t a Dom/sub story….just so no one gets any wrong ideas.”
Unh hunh. I’ll believe it when I see it. 😉 Greta 6!
Heh-heh…yes, we shall see won’t we… 😉 Thanks for stopping by, Aimee!
I love how these 6 roll so easily and pull me into their story. Fabulous writing, I mean, come on: …danced on the blade’s edge…a groin that was wide awake and rather bossy. <– love it.
Ah, thanks, S.J. You’re a sweetie!
Love the new look. Happy almost Halloween. Spooning–the perfect answer for morning breath! 😉 (Sorry. I just had to go there.) This is a great six. Her thoughts give a lot of insight.
Haha…you’re right! No wonder the Silverback (my hubs) is such a fan of snuggling in the AM.
Love your Halloween theme!
Very beautifully written snippet….gave us great insight into Gayle and I especially loved this line: And yet I danced on the blade’s edge, bared my neck to him in submission, loving it, him.
Thanks, Christine! WordPress just made this one available and I thought it was kind of fun. Constancy is not my strength when it comes to my blog, alas. Thanks for the kind words on the snippet.
He sounds verra yummy!
Thanks, Dee! He is delish!
“wide awake and rather bossy” lmao! 🙂
