Clockwork Nessie is a short story that was originally published in Conquest Through Determination, a steampunk anthology from the now dearly departed Pill Hill Press. When my rights reverted, I ran it as a serial on my blog during the A to Z Blog Challenge this past April. Soon, I’ll be putting it on Smashwords, and probably Wattpad and ARe as well, as a free read.
In the meantime, I’ve been working on a quickie cover using copyright free vintage photos and art. I’ve been on a vintage photo kick lately, if you hadn’t already noticed.
What do you think of this:
I rather liked the “gypsy woman” in the old photograph. 🙂
I’m shooting for uploading the story within a week or so. Stay tuned…
I followed the serial on your blog and became quickly addicted. I loved the story and this cover does it justice!

Thanks, Corinne! I’m having fits right now getting it loaded properly. Apparently I did a little unintended editing for the blog that I don’t want in the final product. Grr. On load #3 so far.
Love the story, love the vintage cover! There’s something very cool about those old-style photos, isn’t there?

I love the old style photos and this one is very appropriate for the story, which takes place in the early 1900’s. I also like that the woman on the cover implies that Clockwork Nessie is the heroine of the book…and if you read the story, she really is!
