#ROW80 Rd 4 — Initial Goals

New round, new goals.  This is my fourth ROW80.  Whew!  But, it works, so I keep coming back.

This round, I have a LOT on my plate with my debut novel looming just around the corner, so it’s not going to be too writing-centric.

The writing I do plan, however, will be heaviest in November for NaNoWriMo–whatever I plan to do to get those 50k words–lighter in October and December.  Those months will mostly be prepping for November, editing (The PURE and my other manuscripts) and pre-publication duties.  I will still write, but the tasks will be short–blog posts, short stories, that sort.

This round probably has the highest potential of any I’ve done so far of requiring tweaks along the way.  No biggie though, right?  That’s the nature of the ROWnd.  🙂

My goals are on my ROW80-4 page.

#ROW80 Rd 3, Final Check-in!

Last check in!!

I achieved my final goal on 9/19, submitting my manuscript to my publisher at 9:30 PM on my due date. I think I got a little comma happy at the end, and I’m extending my apologies in advance to J Taylor.  I also found two places (argh!!!) where the search feature I used to find conjunctions for comma checks, ended up zapping the conjunction into the cornfield. (Ok, so it was my trigger happy fingers that did it, but I’m blaming the computer.)

All said and done, this was a VERY successful round for me, not without its heartaches, of course.  But these things are like having a baby: you forget the agony of labor and delivery, the petty annoyances of pregnancy, and only focus on the child you created and birthed.  My cumulative “birth” stats are on my ROW-3 page.

Moving forward to new goals now, I’ll be back for round 4.  I’ll focus primarily on editing and marketing my forthcoming debut novel, but NaNo’s in there too, as is Amazon’s Breakthrough Novel (if I’m eligible).  I just entered Mills & Boon’s New Voices contest (my last eligible opportunity) but first round will be done in a few weeks.  I don’t have high hopes of advancing to the next round. I entered it mostly for the feedback and to put my writing “out there” a little more.

I have a week or so to ponder my round 4 plans, so who knows what I’ll focus my laser sights on.
