#ROW80 Rd 4 — wk 11, rpt 1

I’m still taking it easy catching up with Christmas and other neglected areas of my life squalling for attention.  Editing has been rather slow for this reason.

Two blog posts so far this week (my min requirement, excluding ROW updates)–Six Sentence Sunday where I unveiled a little bit of my most current short story WIP and a Bah, humbug post about Christmas that is alternately funny, depressing and I hope at least a little uplifting by the end.  I hate to be a complete Debbie Downer but right now the bloom is seriously off the Christmas plant to the point where it needs some TLC.

My goals and current stats for this round are on my ROW80-4 page.

#ROW80 Rd 4 — wk 10 (only report)

No post on Wed/Thur because I was out of town and just too busy, plus I didn’t really have all that much to say so I’d rather not waste anyone’s time with a statutory post.

I met my blog post goal easily thanks to the release of my spicier alter-ego’s release on 12/9 and the 12 Days of Christmas blog chain / contest post that led up to it.

I finished my 5k to 10k ocean-themed romance last night at 9300 words for draft 1.  Feels great to finish and I love the story (it made me cry so that’s a always a good sign), but alas now is the dreaded editing.  There’s a 12/31 deadline but as always, I fear the “til full” caveat so quicker is better. For a snippet of The Sweetest Song, check out my 12/11 Six Sentence Sunday post that follows this one.

I’m trying to take it a little easy for the next week or so because I’ve been neglecting too much of my non-writing life, PLUS my job just got “enriched”, to quote an HR friend of mine, so I’ll be a lot busier especially after 1/1 when I take on our international operations.  Oy!

You may have noticed I changed my blog theme.  While I loved the Chateau template, it did not work well on narrower monitors with my Christmas background because my text bled into all that busyness. I also wasn’t crazy about how it formatted quotes.  This one is a new WP template I’m trying.  While I like that the dimensions self-adjust to fit even androids/iphones, it’s missing a few things I enjoyed about Chateau.  One of these days they’ll either give me the perfect template or I’ll spend the $$ to self-host or pay for custom CSS ability.
