ROW80 wk 11, rpt 2

It seems like I worked hard but don’t really have a lot to show for it in terms of my stated goals.  I missed my new word count on my novels in process though I worked on two of them and wrote and submitted one short story to a contest and started a second.

My first three betas have sent back their marked up copies of my manuscripts.  All are writers.  That leaves two in the hands of readers who, if they read it, great, if not, no worries.  So, the editing, with the help of autocrit.com begins this next week.

Lastly, I really need to work away from the television.  I have a netbook and vow to use it upstairs in the quiet office until we get a more permanent computer solution.

  1. Wow, I didn’t know about autocrit. Thanks for mentioning it! I’m sure it’s better than no critique at all.

And hard work is hard work. 🙂 Keep it up!

    • It doesn’t do everything a real critiquer can do but it’s great for helping to find overused words, cliches, that sort of thing. There’s a free version (500 words a pop up to 3x per day) or you can subscribe to post larger chunks more frequently. Thanks for the support!

  2. am just about to get myself a netbook so that I can move into another room – looking foward to it – am going to check out autocrit – thanks for that – keep smiling

  3. hehe Even if you didn’t get as many new words as you’d like, having the feedback from your beta readers will help you go full steam ahead when you do go back to writing next. I have the same problem; my computer is in the same room as the TV, and while most of what my parents watch doesn’t interest me, I am occasionally guilty of putting on a Doctor Who DVD ‘just for background’, only instead of writing and watching bits of the show I end up more or less just staring at the telly…
