I am off to a GREAT start. Day one closed with my having logged 3115 words over two documents–one short story (and a very strange one at that) and one… I don’t quite know what to call it, but it’ll be the “glue” or transitional text to hold all the other short stories together in my anthology.
I also edited several chapters of my novel on day one of NaNo. I think I have about 8 more chapters to go, then tackle the edits for the three added scenes, then do an overall review of my edits, then ship off.
Did I mention I get to reveal my novel’s cover and back blurb on November 14th? I do! I can’t wait to share it. I think my publisher, J Taylor, did an outstanding job capturing the tone of the novel and in helping me with the back blurb, never mind who did most of the heavy lifting **cough**J Taylor**cough**. A little less than two weeks to go.
My goals and current stats for this round are on my ROW80-4 page.
The Linky site lists other participants’ progress reports. Give them some encouragement too.
3k your first day? You rock!
Better than I expected…but I skipped the AM workout too so it came with a price, alas. But ’til NaNo and these sacrifices are expected. 🙂
Congratulations! I can’t wait until I’m past this editing period and can rip it up with new work myself.
Looking forward to seeing your cover.
THanks, Camille. I would like my editing out of the way so it’s not hanging over my head but I think my pace with both is manageable so I allowed myself to do NaNo again this year.
That’s really good, not only for word count but also because you’ve done editing as well!
Thanks, Andrea. I do have a week off soon, so that’ll be my safety valve if I get behind in one of the other.
Woah, what a great week you’ve had! Congrats! I wish my week was that productive but all I can hope for is that I’ll jump back on next week.
No worries, Eli. We’re only a couple of days in. There’s plenty of time to jump on the wagon and drive that mule train. Alas there’s plenty of time to fall off it. I don’t really relax a little until I hit 35k.
Sounds like you’ve already got a lot done even though NaNo has barely started. That’s exciting news about the cover revelation; can’t wait to see it 😀
Thanks, Rebecca! I”m a good starter. Hopefully I can sustain. I’m banking on the variety of writing topics to keep it fresh.
Woo hoo! A great NaNo start.
And what exciting news about your novel. I’m looking foward to 11/14, too.
Hope the words keep flowing. Just consider me your personal NaNo ROW80 cheerleader. Although I’m writing, I’m not NaNo-ing this time.
Oh how cool is that! I love have my own personal cheerleader. Thank you!
And not just me cheering… I’ve recruited two super cute cheerleads for Team NaNo to help me out. Check it out at: http://depressioncookies.blogspot.com/2011/11/dr-seuss-cheerleaders-and-writing-row.html.
